The daughter of Fredrick and Luella McCormick Noel.

She moved to Arkansas as a child and then to Joy Coy, Colo., at the age of 6. She later moved to Grand Junction, Colo., where she worked in a greenhouse and then worked for Woolsworth Variety Store. She later moved to Columbus, Kan., where she worked for the Arthur Christiansen family.

She married Jake Davidson July 21, 1934 in Miami, Okla. She became a homemaker and helped on the Cherokee County family farm. In 1940 the couple purchased a farm near McCune. After her children were grown, Opal cooked at the McCune School and was head cook for a few years. She was a member of the Osage Church of the Brethren of rural McCune where she once served as children's superintendent, officer of the Ladies Aid and deaconess. She was also a member of the Monmouth Jolly Quilters.

Survivors include daughters,Ruth Clark, Donna Beach Schmidt, Doris Crumpacker and Betsy Holland, sons, Harvey Davidson, Kenneth Davidson, Carl Davidson and Tim Davidson, brother, Willard Noel, 29 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
