HENRY CLARK HOBDAY, JR., Retired Lt. Colonel, U.S. Air Force, 87 died Saturday, November 14, 2009 at North Florida Regional Medical Center.
Henry was born November 17, 1921 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to the late Henry Clark Hobday, Sr. and Alice Hilton Hobday.
Henry moved to Gainesville in 1951 to work with the Air Force ROTC Department at the University of Florida, he worked with them until 1955. Henry then moved to Sunnydale California to work in the USAF Satellite Test Center, and returned to Gainesville in 1971 after retiring. He has lived in Gainesville ever since.
Henry was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he was in the John Hoover Sunday School Class. Henry was a member of the Retired Officers Association, TROA. He also loved hunting, and was an avid Gator fan.
Henry is survived by his Beloved wife, Sue Barger Hobday, his loving and dedicated son Hank, and his, sister-in-law, Jean (George"Bo") Anderson. Mr. Hobday was preceded in death by an infant son.
The family will receive friends at the Milam Funeral Home, Gainesville, on Thursday, November 19, 2009, from 4:00pm - 6:00pm. Interment will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL with Full Military Honors.
