ANN RIPLEY HILL, 89, of Gainesville, died on Sunday, April 6, 2008 in Gainesville, Florida. Ann was born on December 28, 1918 in Jobs Corner, Pennsylvania.
Ann first moved to Gainesville in 1938 and left in 1941 to support her husband's military career and raise a family. She returned to Gainesville in 1962 and received her B.A. in Education from the University of Florida. Ann taught for 10 years at Archer Elementary School.
Ann was an active member in the First Presbyterian Church in Gainesville. She served as an Elder and was a member of the Alter Guild and the Congregational Nominating Committee. She also was a member of the Woman's Club and the Retired Officers Wives Club.
Mrs. Hill was predeceased by her infant son and infant grandson.
She is survived by her husband Fredric, daughter Freddy Williams and her husband Terry, son Andy and his wife Charlene, son Mike and his wife Dede, son Mark and his wife Patty, eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 at First Presbyterian Church, 300 SW 2nd Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32601. Interment will be on Thursday, April 10th at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Gainesville, FL, and/or to Children, Inc., 4205 Dover Road, Richmond, VA 23221-3267.
