George Bird, 63, former resident, buried at Cutler.
Funeral services were conducted at Cutler Saturday for George Bird, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bird of Du Quoin and himself a native of this city.
Officiating was Rev. Ray Richardson, pastor of the Cutler Baptist Church of which the deceased was a charter member and a deacon for a number of years.
Born in Du Quoin in 1885, Bird united with the Holts Prairie Baptist Church near Pinckneyville in childhood days. He moves to Cutler as a young man. His death occurred there last Thursday.

Besides his wife, Nettie, he is survived by eight children, Mesdames Goldie Jeremiah and Lela Behnken and Lyle Bird, all of Willisville and Dale, Ernestine, Edith and Bonnie Bird and Mrs. Norma Dunn, all of Cutler; three brothers, Jake, Edel and Rev. Lawrence Bird of near Pinckneyville and two sisters, Mrs. Henrietta Kowalski of Percy and Mrs. Arzilla Clinton of Ava.

Two brothers, Andrew & Henry Jr., one sister, Mrs. Nellie Huggins and one daughter also preceded him in death.

He married Nettie Pearl Wilson.
