CANBY - Jane Boyer Moody Blondell, 87, of Canby died Wednesday, July 30, 2008.
She was born July 14, 1921 in Heppner, to Clara and Guy Boyer. She lived for many years in Eastern Oregon: Heppner, Monument, Mt. Vernon and John Day.
She represented Grant County on the 1939 Pendleton Roundup Court. She spent some time in Washington, D.C. working for Oregon congressman, Lowell Stockman.
She married Harry Moody of Portland and they raised four children, Doug, Don, Marla and Paul, while living in John Day and while partnering with Guy and Clara Boyer in the Boyer Furniture Store. In 1962 the family moved to Belmont, Calif.
Preceding her in death were her first husband, Harry Moody; her second husband, Paul Blondell of Belmont, Calif.; brothers, Don Boyer and Phill Boyer; and her oldest son, Douglas Kent Moody, who died from a massive heart attack at age 57 in December 2005.
Survivors include her children, Harry Don Moody of Colorado; Marla Hernandez of Olympia, Wash.; and Paul Moody of Canby; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Theda Boyer of Baker City; and niece, Martha Boyer Murphy Saunders of Redmond.
