Charles D. Aufforth

Charles Aufforth died Monday, June 6, at the Oakwood Country Place. Memorial services were June 9 at the Sheridan Baptist Church.
Mr. Aufforth was born November 16, 1941, in Bend, to Frederick Charles Aufforth and Ruby Jewel Price. He graduated from John Mier High School in Pasadena, Calif., and went on to attend Elisonore Military Academy.
On July 4, 1961, he married Catherine Hosier in Ontario, Calif. He went to work for Lockheed Aircraft Company, where he designed and built airplanes. He later divorced and moved to Mt. Angel in 1976, where he lived for three years before moving to John Day.
In 1995, he moved to Sheridan. Mr. Aufforth enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and horseback riding.
He is survived by his companion, Kathy Thomas of Sheridan, four daughters, Jolene Hinkle of Dougola, Ill., Donna Guardado of Ontario, Calif., Charlene Villalobos, of Ontario,Calif, and Terina Slaught of Patton, Mo.; mother, Ruby Oliver of John Day; and father, Frederick Aufforth of Santa Maria, Calif.; one brother, Murice Aufforth of Santa Maria, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
