A Hendricks County Farm Bureau charter member, Cuba D. Daily, 86, RR Mooresville (Hendricks County) died Tuesday, August 17 at her home. She resided in the same area all of her lifetime.
Born November 8, 1895 in Liberty Township, she was the daughter of Alexander and Elizabeth (Simmons) Franklin.
The widow was employed in the housekeeping department at Kendricks Hospital, Mooresville, from 1952 until 1975 when she retired.
She married Claude Daily in 1913 and he died in 1952.
Besides the Farm Bureau, she also was a charter member of the Southeast Liberty Home Economics Club and a member of the Belleville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mae E. Rose, RR Mooresville; a brother, Lowell Franklin, Clayton; two grandchildren, Edward Rose and Phyllis Caldwell; and four great-grandchildren.
Both Rev. Paul Traylor and Rev. Stephen Rasmussen conducted services Thursday morning August 19 at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, and burial was a the Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
The family requests contributions be made to the Opportunity Cottage at Danville.
Cuba Franklin and Claude Daniel Daily were married August 11, 1914 in Hendricks County. Cuba is buried along side her husband Claude Daily. Cuba and Claude also had an infant son, Hobart Ivan Daily who died March 5, 1920, and is buried near his Franklin/Simmons grandparents and Simmons/Venable greatgrandparents at Maple Hill Cemetery. Cuba and Claude lived near the Morgan/Hendricks county line, nearer to Belleville, Indiana.
