Mass of Christian Burial for Stacey Lee Bruce, 26, Dunseith, was held Friday, October 25, 2002, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in rural Dunseith with Father Dan Estes S.O.L.T., Celebrant.

Burial was in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery in rural Belcourt. He died Saturday, October 19, 2002, in Belcourt from injuries sustained in a fire north of Dunseith.

Pallbearers were Waylon LaFromboise, Chucky Fox, Keith Delorme, Harold Bruce, Brian Malaterre, Loyalle Smith, Jordan Short and Ricky Parisian.

Honorary pallbearers were Stacey's brothers, Richard Jr., Joseph, Jason and Bradley "Scotty" Bruce.

Gift bearers were Angelique Vallie, Marie Bruce, and Michelle Malaterre.

Readers were Teresa Delorme and Ginger Belgarde.

Special music was provided by Alvin Counts and the Red Thunder Drum Group.

Stacey Lee Bruce, the son of Richard Gerard Bruce Sr. and Myrna Malaterre, was born August 7, 1976 in Rolla.

Stacey resided in Belcourt with his mother Myrna and step-father, Bryant Vallie. He received his education in the Belcourt schools and was in the process of furthering his education.

Stacey was a loving father, son, and brother. He was self-employed in what he loved to do - work on cars. Stacey was a "jack of all trades."

Survivors include a daughter, Heaven Bruce of Belcourt; mother, Myrna and step-father, Bryant Vallie of Belcourt; father Richard Bruce of Grand Forks; two sisters, Kristin Bruce of Grand Forks and Angelique Vallie of Belcourt; four brothers, Richard Jr., Joseph, Jason and Bradley "Scotty" Bruce all of Belcourt; grandmother, Emma Bruce of Belcourt; godparents, Ron and Teresa Delorme of Bismarck; special friend, Gina Bercier; other relatives and friends.

Stacey was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Thomas Malaterre; paternal grandfather, Lawrence Bruce; two aunts, Caroline Parisian and Evelyn LaFromboise.

Keplin Funeral Home of Rolette was in charge of arrangements.
