Last rites for Mrs. Sarrah [Sarah] Crow, 85, who died at the home of Mrs Beulah Mae Phillips in Midland Tuesday, July 17, at 7 AM, were conducted at the First Baptist Church in Itasca Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Officiating minister was Rev. Royce Sanders, pastor,
A native of Natchez, Miss, Mrs. Crow was born Oct. 11, 1872, to Mr. and Mrs. J. W. [W. J.] Benning. She came to Texas when she was 16 years of age, living in Dallas for number of years. She was married in Dallas to J. F. Crow, in 1904.
Following their marriage, Mr. And Mrs. Crow moved to Waxahachie, and later, in the fall of 1917, they moved to the Pluto community nine -miles east of Itasca. They moved to Itasca in 1951. Following the death of her husband in 1953, Mrs. Crow had divided time with her children.
One son, John W Crow, preceded her in death in 1942. He lost his life in service of his country during World War II on New Guinea.
A long-time member of the Baptist Church, she was a member of the Plum Grove Baptist Church at the time of her death.
Internment was in the Itasca Cemetery under the direction of Sanford Funeral Home
