Birth: Aug. 18, 1921
Carbon County
Utah, USA
Death: Dec., 2009

Anita T. Brown 1921 ~ 2009 Anita Barbara Tezak Brown was born on August 18, 1921, to Anton and Christine L. Tezak in Latuda (Carbon County), Utah. She later moved to Salt Lake City with her family, and graduated from East High School in 1939. Anita was preceded in death by her beloved husband Linus, parents, and six brothers and sisters. She is survived by her two sisters Christine and Helen, her five children Mary, Jim (Kim), Barbara Struhs (Marlin), Joe (Margaret), Teresa Bell (Russell), and her five grandchildren Katie, Sam, Ian, Rachel and Daniel. Mom enjoyed sports and at a young age was hired by Standard Linen Supply to play softball. She went on to play professionally for the Salt Lake Shamrocks. She enjoyed her working career as a secretary especially for U.S. Steel Corporation. Mom was a skillful and accomplished bowler. She enjoyed making acquaintances and offering pointers. She was very cool! Mom truly embraced her vocation as a devoted wife, mother, and friend to all of us. She attended to our needs with simple gestures of encouragement and words of acceptance. Her capacity to be non-judgmental and open hearted is a life-long lesson for us. She had a wealth of wisdom, a gracious simplicity, an enduring beauty, and great personal style. She was paradoxically reserved and engaging with a good measure of honesty and humor. She was resourceful with issues of health and well- being and enjoyed sharing what she discovered. Anita endured her own physical pain gracefully and without complaint for many years. Mom's deep and abiding hope in God was a great source of strength throughout her life. She had a devotion to our Blessed Lady and was especially drawn to The Infant of Prague. We were witness to her desire for peace in her living, and were gifted to experience this peace with her in her dying. A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Ann Catholic Church, 450 East 2100 South. Holy Rosary will be recited Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 South, where friends may call from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Committal, Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4th Avenue and T Street. We love you Mom and are grateful to you. We will always remember you in our hearts.
