ST. GEORGE, UT - Miles Lorenzo Anderson, 86, died Saturday, May 15, 1999.
He was born April 29, 1913 in Monroe, Utah, to Inga Marrie Newman and August Lorenzo Anderson. He married Jenny Stockfish in 1937. She preceded him in death in 1991. He married Alverna Cottrell in 1993.
Mr. Anderson's early years were in Delta, Utah where he graduated from Delta High School. He served in the U.S. Army. He lived in Salt Lake City most his life where he worked as a painter and joined the Painters Union Local 77. He retired to St. George, Utah.
Surviving family include his wife, Alverna of St. George, UT; children: Susan (Blake) Robertson, Carol (Albert) Curia, Janet (Wally) Sackett, Michael (Gloria) Anderson; stepchildren, Joan Barnson, Patricia (Jim) Crider; 15 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elithe (Earl) Adkins and Myrtle Jorgenson. One brother, Jay Anderson preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 19, from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 300 West St. George Blvd. Additional visitations will be held on Friday, May 21, from 6-7 p.m. and on Saturday, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. both at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary in Salt Lake City, Utah. Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery under the direction of the Metcalf Mortuary, 673-4221.
