In 1978 she was named Kansas Merit Mother, and served as president and recording secretary for the organization. She served on Republic County election boards for many years, and maintained the address database for the Cuba-Hillcrest Alumni Association. She was also a member of the ZCBJ lodge and Kansas Women's Kansas Day Club. In 1978 the Hadacheks were hosts to an international exchange student, Juan Carlos of Arequipa, Peru. She was an avid quilter and genealogist, and she and Gene enjoyed many bus trips and trips on Amtrak around the United States.
