Franklin Elijah Brower married Sarah Ellen and had one known daughter Mary E. Brower Moore.

Elijah enlisted on the Union side in the American Civil War as a 1st Sargeant as part of 2nd Light Artillery Battery I Regiment Regular Army. He was promoted to Brevet 1st Lieutenant.

Enlisted 11 Feb 1868 and 23 Jan 1869 as well.
