ROBERT JOHN SCHMID
Robert Johhn Schmid, age 31, was killed in an automobile accident on the 16th of September 1995 in Huntsville, Alabama.
He was born the 7th of September 1964 to Maxine Butikofer and David Karl Schmid in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended schools in Tooele, Utah but graduated from Viewmont High School in Bountiful, Utah where he lettered in swimming and water polo.
He graduated cum laude from Utah State University in Mechanical Engineering. He was elected to and held positions in Tau Beta Pi(an engineering honor society) and was a member of Phi Kappa Phi and the Golden Key Honor Society.
Robert has been employed by Boeing the past six years in Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama in design and production phases of the Space Station.
Robert is a two palm Eagle Scout working in scouting the past six years. He completed the Wood Badge training - loved and served the scouts. He was an active member of the LDS Church - giving much service. He loved missionary work and frequently did splits with the full time missionaries in Huntsville.
He loved the Lord and his beautiful creations. His hobbies included hiking, backpacking, rappeling, spelunking, sailling and competing in triathlons. He married his wife Linden the 17th of December 1992 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He is survived by his wife, his daughter and a son born shortly after his death, parents, one brother, and grandparents in Idaho Falls, Idaho, and numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins in Utah, Idaho and California.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 23, 1995 at 1 p.m. in the Bountiful 34th Ward.
