History - Delmont was conductor for the U.P.R.R. He entered the service of U.P.R.R. April 19, 1941, as a brakeman, promoted to conductor April 26, 1944. Entered military service 30 Nov 1944. Delmont died 15 May 1945 on the Island of Okinawa during World War ll, and was reburied in the Sandy Utah Cemetery on 21 May 1950.
Obituary - PVT. DELMONT GOFF DIES IN BATTLE
Pvt Delmont L. Goff, 25 whos widow, Mrs.Ila Warren Goff, resides in Ogden, and who is a son of Frank B. Goff, Salt Lake City, was killed May 15 on Okinawa while serving with the Seventy-Seventh Infantry Division.
He was born Febuary 22, 1920, in Rupert, Idaho. Moving to Salt Lake City, he attended West high school. At his his induction in August, 1944 he was a conductor for Union Pacfic Railroad company.
Pvt Goff recivied basic training at Camp Hood, Texas, and was shipped overseas in March.
Survivors include his widow; and father; a son and daughter, Leola and Delmonth Warren Goff, Ogden, UT; a brother, Doral S. Goff, Washington, D.C.; and a sister, Mrs. Charles Maise, Portland, Ore.
