David Craig Clapper went to be with his Lord August 9, 2008, in a plane crash in the mountains of Papua, Indonesia.
He was a missionary pilot. David was a 1980 graduate of Shalom Christian Academy, Chambersburg, and a graduate of Williamson Trade School, Philadelphia, in the field of masonry. He was also a graduate of the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL, in their Missionary Aviation program.
In addition to parents, Donald L. and Carol Clapper of Chambersburg, he is survived by his wife of 24 years, Beth (Hernley) Clapper, and their five children, Judah, Tirzah, Natalie), Victoria), and Jasmine; his siblings, Cindy Fodor of Littlestown, Donald Clapper of Chambersburg, Daniel Clapper of Chambersburg, Crystal Noecker of Ridgelea, WI, Cheryl Noecker, serving with her family in Kenya, Africa, Dwight Clapper of Dallas Center, Iowa, Charlene Horst of Fayetteville, and MaryLeta Lehman of Chambersburg; and his maternal grandmother, Naomi Nicarry, also of Chambersburg.
He was laid to rest in the land where he served, Indonesia.
