Charles (Chuck) Norman Soltysiak was born on Aug. 19, 1925 in Alpena, Michigan to Angeline and Stephen Soltysiak. He grew up in a large family and has surviving siblings in Alpena. He has been a long time resident of Oceanside and the last several years has been in a skilled nursing facility. Chuck entered into the gates of Heaven on October 3, 2009, after health challenges.

He was a proud Marine and accomplished two tours in Korea, also served in Okinawa and Viet Nam during his Marine career. He retired from the Marine Corps and then was employed by Civil Service at Camp Pendleton, before completely retiring.

Chuck was preceded in death by his dear wife, Alice Jean.
