Leona Willard, 93, died Saturday, April 14, 2007, in Raymond, Alberta, Canada.

Born Sept. 17, 1914, in Phoenix, she lived in Carlsbad for 46 years. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she held many leadership positions. She was a teacher for Ditmar Elementary School in Oceanside for 20 years.

Mrs. Willard is survived by her sons, Ross, Tom and Kent; daughter Cathy; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Monday, April 23, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1975 Chestnut Ave. in Carlsbad, Private interment is planned.
