He was born in Atlantic City, the son of Lawrence G and Margaret M Wimberg, and was a lifelong resident of the Egg Harbor City area. Larry graduated from St. Nicholas Grammar School in EHC (1959) and St. Joseph High School in Hammonton (1963). He attended Temple University in Philadelphia and served his country honorably during the Vietnam Era. He returned home to the Wimberg Family business, where he owned and operated the Egg Harbor Vault Company, Atlantic Transit Mix Concrete Co. and Egg Harbor Memorials. He was formerly employed by Fabi Concrete Co., Bradbury Vault Co. and Physicians Choice Ambulance. His favorite role was that of "Santa".

He was a member of the American Legion of Galloway, 157th Field Artillery Battalion Asso.; Knights of Columbus Council #3500 of EHC- 4th degree member; Egg Harbor City Historical Society; Kickapoo Tribe #237 of EHC; Lions Club of Mullica Twp.; Kiwanis Club of Galloway Twp; Republican Club of Mullica Twp.; charter member ot the EHC Rotary Club and President of the Mid-Atlantic Senior Citizens Outreach Program. Larry was the former Mayor of Mullica Twp., councilman, committeeman and a member of the Atlantic Coounty Republican Committee. He voluteered at the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Mainland Div. and also Elwood Volunteer Rescue Squad, EHC Volunteer Rescue Squad and Galloway Twp Volunteer Rescue Squad.

Beside his parents, he is predeceased by his sister Margaret Mary Clayton and infant sisters Ann and Marie Wimberg.

His is survived by his wife Karen Coyle Wimberg of EHC; his daughter Delia Wimberg Marquez and her husband Steve of Tucson, AZ; his grandchildren Kevin Lawrence, Patrick Lawrence and Cecelia Anne Marquez. He is also survived by his brother Lloyd A Wimberg and his sister Louise Wimberg of EHC; sisters-in-law Evelyn Subotin (Pete) of Absecon; Janet Fortiner of California and Vicki Lowther of Absecon; his brother-in-law Charles Coyle (Gwen) of EHT and his father-in-law Charles Coyle of Absecon.
