Born Eddington, ME 14 Aug 1847, fourth of six children of Timothy EDDY (b ME, d ME 1878) and Mary J. ROE (b ME); at age 16, enlisted in Co A of the 31st Maine Volunteers, served through the latter part of the CW with that command; 1872 to SnoCo, working in logging camp; 1875 to San Francisco, 6 mos later to WallaWalla; to SnoCo in 1879; 1883 homestead near Hartford, 1887 to Snohomish; 1894 12 acres near Snohomish.
Married: in Bradley, ME 19 Mar 1870 to Charlotte OSGOOD (dau of Joseph and Mary OSGOOD, both b ME).
