MILL CREEK -- Services for Myrtle Samis, 85, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Jerry George officiating. Interment will follow at Indiahoma Cemetery, Indiahoma.
Born March 11, 1912, at Pickens to Osby and Mary Frances Whisenhunt Williams, she died Sept. 19, 1997, at an Ardmore hospital. She married Frank Samis. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Henry and Harry Samis; and one daughter, Avis Sims.
Mrs. Samis was a member of the Pentecostal Church. She had lived in Mill Creek for 26 years, moving from Pickens.
Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy Martinez, Madill, Mary Haney and Azelle Vaughn, both of Mill Creek; four sons, John, Sulphur, Wayland, Cache, George, Mill Creek, and Harold, Fort Worth, Texas; one sister, Audrey Williams, Pickens; two brothers, Lewis and Tom Williams, Pickens; 32 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
Bearers are Gary Samis, Harold Samis Jr., Tommy Haney, Robbie Haney, Mashone Lowe and Willie Elrod.
Services are under the direction of Smith Funeral Home, Tishomingo.
