Thursey was the first wife of Joseph Quesenberry. Joseph was a Confederate Soldier with the 50th Virginia Infantry. He was originally from Pulaski County, Va but may have later resided in Fayette County, Va. He enlisted on May 2, 1863 and was a Private in Co. I. Joseph was mortally wounded in battle (probably Chancellorsville) and died from his wounds on June 12, 1863. His wife was Thursey Quesenberry (later Clark, then Carper).

Thursey last husband was William Decatur Carper. His parents are Joseph Carper and Virginia Jane Shumate. They had no children. After her death he went to New Mexico and remarried.
