Second Generation

2nd son of Benjamin and Mary Child of Roxbury.
Husband of Grace Morris Child whom he married March 4 1683. She was the daughter of Deacon Edward Morris and his wife Grace Bett.


His father died Oct 14 1678. He contributed money to erect the first church of Roxbury and had immigrated from GB.
Benjamin Child, a nephew of Ephraim, came to this country, it is thought, with his uncle, and became the head of the large number of families of that name on this side of the Atlantic

On the day Benjamin died he was 65 years old, and ∆tatis suś (i.e., ∆, "Aged," in the XX year of his Age) 66. He and brothers Ephraim and Joshua were bapt. together of record at Roxbury Feb. 27, 1658/9, whereas Benjamin's gravestone indicates he was b. AFTER Jan. 24, 1657/8.
