There's only a bit of family lore about Leona and it seems it's inaccurate. She's listed in the 1910 Census as "Ola W. Wallace", however her husband called her "Leona". Also, her eldest daughter carries the "Leona" middle name, as does a granddaughter and a great granddaughter.
According to the admission forms to Buckner's Children's Home, in Irving, TX, you can clearly see where her husband wrote her name as 'Leona' then scratched it out and wrote Ola on top of it. Her birth information comes from those forms. They also state that she died of blood poisoning.

I'm proud to carry your name... and even prouder of my granddaughter, who also carries it. I wish I still had your picture, though I'll never forget the 'apple cheeked' young girl you were on your wedding day.|
