Son of Daniel M. & Juliana (Sacks) Fink and husband of Louisa (Butz) Fink. Like his father, he was a carpet weaver living in Allentown. He was drafted (according to the company register) and mustered in Philadelphia November 7, 1862, although the date and location suggest that he enlisted as a substitute. He was honorably discharged with his company August 18, 1863. He also enlisted in Harrisburg September 12, 1864, mustered there the following day as a corporal with Co. F, 209th Pennsylvania Infantry, promoted from 1st corporal to 5th sergeant March 1, 1865, and honorably discharged with his company May 31, 1865. After the war, he married Louisa Sarah Ann "Sally" Butz and fathered Tana L. (b. 12/??/69), Irvin Franklin (b. 03/04/73), Charles J. (b. 03/05/74), Ellen J. (b. 04/13/76), Amenia Catherine (b. 03/05/78), Bertha A. (b. 03/01/80), Edgar Tilghman (b. 12/13/81), Harvey Milton (b. 11/10/83), Victoria (b. 12/23/85), Henry Alfred (b. 12/16//87), and Sarah Louisa (b. 09/11/92).
