P.B. 'Red' Choate
MINERAL WELLS -- P.B. "Red" Choate, 82, father of an Abilene resident, died Wednesday in Mineral Wells.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in Eleventh Avenue Church with the Rev. R.B. Shiflet officiating. Burial will be in Holders Chapel Cemetery in Parker County, directed by Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Funeral Home.
Mr. Choate was born in Mineral Wells, where he was a lifelong area resident. He married Katie Wilkins in 1931 in Mineral Wells and owned Choate Electric Co. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias and Eleventh Avenue Church.
Survivors include his wife of Mineral Wells; four daughters, Betty Boone of Abilene, Pat Stoermer of North Richland Hills, Martha Martin of Burleson and Nancy Choate of Fort Worth; three sons, Dick Choate, Oscar Choate and Walter Choate, all of Mineral Wells; one sister, Martha Lou Dotson of Houston; 27 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
