Rites slated for Fireman G. C. Moore
Funeral services for G.C. Moore, 56, of 2205 San Medina, the Dallas fireman who was pronounced dead after suffering a heart attack Monday and then revived, will be held Saturday.
The Rev. John Lee Harris will conduct services at 11 a.m. in the Lakeside Baptist Church. Entombment will be in Hillcrest Mausoleum.
Mr. Moore suffered a heart attack Monday morning when he drove a truck to the scene of a fire in the 2600 block of Mayhew. He was pronounced dead at Baylor Hospital and eight minutes later, a nurse noticed he was breathing. He died at the hospital Thursday morning.
A native of Prattville, Mr. Moore had been with the Dallas Fire Department as a driver-engineer since 1942. He was stationed at Fire Station No. 39 at 10750 Shiloh Road.
Mr. Moore had lived in Dallas for 29 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hazel Moore of Dallas; a son, Charles Moore of Dallas; a daughter, Mrs. Paul Sharrock of Tyler; his mother, Mrs. Pearl Moore of Dallas; four brothers, Huttie C. Moore and Paul Moore, both of Dallas and Arnold Moore and Ray Moore, both of Sulphur Springs; three sisters, Mrs. Dell Alberts and Mrs. Ruby Morgan, both of Dallas, and Mrs. Mabel Cunningham of Commerce; and two grandsons.
