Mr. Wayne H. Becraft, age 79, of Rushville, passed away at 2:40 PM, Wednesday, March 24th, 2010 at Rush Memorial Hospital.

Wayne was born in Ogden, Indiana on February 22, 1931, the son of the late Harley and Dorothy (McCorkle) Becraft. He married Dorothy Safewright May 10, 1952 and she preceded him in death Sept. 18, 2005. He served in the U.S. Marines from 1952 to 1954 as a PFC in the Korean War. He earned the National Defence Ribbon; Korean Service Ribbon; United Nations Service Ribbon.

Wayne retired from International/Schnadig Furniture Company after 40 years of service. He then retired from the Rush County Sheriff's Department as Jailer, working there from 1988 to 1996. His memberships included the First Baptist Church, Indiana Sheriff's Association, Former Rush County Roadrunners and he was a Cub League and Little League Coach several years when his sons Richard and Mike were playing.

Wayne is survived by a son, Richard (wife Phyllis) Becraft of Mitchell, IN; a daughter, Beth (husband Doug) Jarman of Rushville, IN; former Daughter-In-Law Janet Craig of New Castle; Brother Ralph (wife Donna); Six Grandchildren also survive. Wayne is also survived by his special companion Gloria Bunch of Rushville.

In addition to his wife Dorothy, he was preceded in death by his son Michael, 3 brothers & 3 sisters.

A Celebration of Life Service at 10:00AM on Monday March 29, 2010 at Todd Funeral Home in Rushville with Pastor Phil Mitchell officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Rushville's East Hill Cemetery.

Friends are invited to call Sunday March 28th from 2:00 to 6:00PM at Todd Funeral Home.
