I can't sum up his life in a few words. John my grandson, was born totally deaf. The things you take for granted talking, hearing birds sing or music John could only experience through the vibration it made. John lived in a silent world,he learned to read lips, he was very smart,a talented artist. He loved animals, family, children & to make people laugh. Life was not easy. But everyone loved him.
WESTERN MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C.-- A smoldering fire in the woods of Western Mecklenburg County leads parents to a horrifying discovery.
What those parents found would shock anyone, their adult son dead in a burnt out tree house behind their home.
Police and fire investigators remained on scene hours after the discovery Sunday.
Police say the victim's parents called 911 after they discovered their son in a smoldering tree house around one o'clock.
A friend of the family tells NewsChannel 36 the 32-year-old man was building the tree house for a young daughter he just found out he had, living in Florida, so he put in the extra effort to make it special. "He's been building a tree house for her and his nephew Kylie, and it's got a railing around it, it's got a stairway around it, it's beautiful. They put shutters, little shutters and window vents so it would be nice and cool to play in," says family friend and neighbor Linda Rose.
Police and Arson Investigators are trying to determine a cause of death, but they say there are no initial signs of foul play.
Later the cause was found to be candles lit & forgotten when he fell to sleep & they dripped on to the carpet. His ashes are in a vase on the mantle of his parents fireplace
Cremated, Ashes given to family or friend.
