DUDLEY L. PLUMLEY RITES HELD

Dudley Leroy Plumley, 63, of the Florence - Thompson Corners Road, who was employed at Camden Wire Company from 1939 to 1979, died March 26, 1981 at home after a long illness.
He was born June 6, 1917 in Camden, the son of Leroy B. And Bessie M Audas Plumley. He was a graduate of Candem High School.
On September 25, 1929 he married Helen E. Halliday, daughter of Charles V. And Ethelyn C. Durant Halliday of Rome, New York. He was a member of Florence Methodist Church.
He became a foreman at Camden Wire in 1949. In 1951, he became the wire department manager of the off-premises operation of Harden Furniture , which he helped develope. In 1953 he assumed the position of Superintendent of plant #2 and became assistant plant manager of Camden Wire Co. In 1962. In 1977 he became manufacturing manager retiring in 1979.
Mr. Plumley was a Republican committee chairman in the town of Florence and a member of the Florence Volunteer Fire Dept.. Served on the board of trustees for the Village of Camden. A past member of the Camdens Odd Fellows Lodge and the Camden Rod and Gun Club.
He is survived by his wife , a son Leroy, Florence , three daughters; Mrs. James (Madalyne) Grinnell, Camden, Mrs. Robert (Coleen) Riegler, Lee, and Mrs. John (Bessie) Niles, Canastota, two brothers; Harry A. Plumley and John D. Plumley, both of Camden, two sisters; Mrs. Donald ( Alma) Sanborn, and Mrs. James (Edna) Christmas, both of Camden. Thirteen grandchildren.
Memorial services were held March 28, at the Camden Methodist Church.
Arrangements were conducted by Sanborn - McDaniels Funeral Home.
Dudley was cremated and his ashes were scattered on the deer run behind his home where his son Leroy now lives.
