Minerva worked on a committee that persuaded the Illinois State Legislature to purchase land that became Starved Rock State Park. She served in the Daughters of the American Revolution from 1901 to 1928. A bronze plaque at her gravesite says she was State DAR Regent of Illinois, 1909-1911, and Vice President General, 1913-1914.
