Civil War Union Army Soldier. He was mustered in as a Private in Company G, 1st New Jersey Volunteer Cavalry on September 30. 1861 (New Jersey Adjutant General records lists his name as "Cornelius Abrams"). He served until he was discharged due to disability at Alexandria, Virginia on May 15, 1862. He died of disease that day.
