Dr. Cecil Calvert "C.C." Willett was the son of Hamilton Lewis Willett and Lourany [Durrett] Willett and husband of Bertie L. [Gardner] Willett.

C.C. was born in Newton, Texas, and spent his entire life there. He became an Optometrist and many older residents of Newton remember being fitted for glasses in the office in his home. He was a man of many interests, also repairing watches and jewelry as a hobby. He also became interested in amateur radio, and I vividly remember being fascinated as a child by the intricate radio equipment he kept in a room next to the garage. He was also active in the community, and was a Master Mason.

C.C. and Bertie had two children, Hazel Kathleen Willett (my paternal grandmother) and Marvin O. Willett. After Bertie passed away in 1961, he married Mamie Essie Wigley.

C.C. passed away in 1973, and is buried in the Gardner Family Cemetery, next to Bertie.
