Nedra East was born in the state of Oklahoma on March 14, 1913 to Elva East and Flossie Pearl Shaffer East. She joined an older sister, Glenna (1908). One year and one day before Nedra would be born, her older brother Wilbert had died at the age of 1 year & 1 day. Other siblings included: Moeta East (1917) and Hubert Clifford East (1923).

On December 24 1935, Nedra married Norman Fray Crowder, son of Garland Nelson Crowder and Mellvina Wilson Crowder. They were married for 58 years, 8 months and 24 days at the time of his death which occured on September 17, 1994. They never had children. Her older sister Glenna and younger brother H. Clifford preceded her in death.


Nedra is survived by one sister, Moeta East Benson and her three children, and four children from her brother as well as several nieces and nephews on the Crowder side; some of which are Norma Crowder Capps, Dorothy Henson Crowder (Clifford),Martha Crowder Farley & Garland Ervan Crowder; Joe Dell Hill, Robert L. Hill, Ercle Crowder, Lorene Crowder, Doyle Crowder.

Nedra E. Crowder of Wyandotte, Oklahoma passed away Saturday August 28, 2010 at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin, MO. She was 97.
Mrs. Crowder was born March 24, 1913 in Wyandotte, Oklahoma to Elva and Flossie Pearl (Shaffer) East. She had lived most of her life in the Wyandotte area. She was a Member of the First Baptist Church in Seneca, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her husband Norman and her parents, 2 brothers Hubert East and Wilber East and a sister Glenna Dorman.

A sister Moeta Benson of Fred Texas,
Many Nephew and Niece
Funeral Services will be Friday September 3, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami, Ok. Rev. Aaron Weibel will officiate. Pallbearers will be Mike Rawlins, Dustin Browning, Steven East, Buddy Benson, Ray Browning and Josh Benson. Interment will be in Seneca Cemetery on the Oklahoma side. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. Services are under the directions of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami, Ok.
