Gasiorowski pronounced gonshor-owski or gon-sho-rof-ski. This name (in general) is known to have been shortened to "Gonshor" in the United States (e.g.: upon immigration). In Mary's death certificate "Gonsor" may be a variation, or a typing mistake (dropping the "h").
Mary Gasiorowski is the daughter of Joseph Gasiorowski a/k/a Gonshor/Gonsor (b. Austria) and Sophia Koloros (b. Austria).
Born in Austria on September 19, 1874 and died Petoskey, Emmett, Michigan, USA on August 4, 1931 (dates based on a certified death certificate vs. the grave marker date).
Mary married Michael Korona abt. 1901.
At some point they lived on the outskirts of Krakow, Poland (Information from Sophia Korona/Makarewicz, November 1985).
Mary, with daughter Sophia Rose Korona, immigrated to the United States abt. 1914 (Michael had immigrated earlier, abt. 1910).
Mary is the mother of Sophia Rose Korona (m. Makarewicz), John Paul Korona (m. Clara Delores Damer), Mary Korona (m. Majsterek) and Anna Pearl Korona (m. Leech).
A special "Thank You" to Jim Shearer for creating this memorial, his photos and for transferring my Great Grandmother's memorial to me. To Ann Korona for providing the only known photo of Mary. And to Don Pelka for his collaboration and providing the death certificate.
