Cynthia Irene Barrios was a very outgoing person who enjoyed singing and dancing at parties. She always helped anyone who needed a hand and she especially cared for her little sister, Alicia. Cynthia was very lovable, happy, caring, pretty and joyful.

Cynthia was born on November 11, 1983 at Mercy General Hospital in Santa Ana, CA. She was the daughter of Horacio Barrios and Ana Maria Regalado. Cynthia grew up in Santa Ana and Riverside.

She was raised with four siblings. She had two sisters, Michelle and Alicia and two brothers, Horacio and Jimmy. Cynthia was usually involved in all sorts of activities with her siblings. She and her siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.

As a young girl, Cynthia had a number of interests. Like most children, she enjoyed playing and making up games. She was curious about the world around her and was often eager to explore it. Cynthia was an active child who took part in choir. In her spare time she liked dancing and singing. Cynthia's memorable achievements included Musician of the Month in choir. However, to Cynthia, the most fun to be had was simply playing and spending time with her friends and family.

A typical teenager, Cynthia had a fairly happy high school experience, making that critical transition from adolescence to adulthood. She graduated from Century High School in Santa Ana, CA in 2001. She enjoyed some classes more than others, having favorite subjects and teachers. Her favorite class in high school was choir. The teacher she enjoyed learning from the most was Mrs. Kinan.

Always considered a good friend to those she knew, Cynthia enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during her lifetime. Cynthia was closest to all of her cousins and friends from her church. Her best friends were her mother and sisters.

Cynthia enjoyed what she did for a living. She was employed for over 2 years at an extended care hospital where she prepared meals for the elderly. Cynthia always sought to be a team player, doing what was necessary in order to get the job done.

Cynthia enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. Her favorite pursuits were jewelry, cosmetics and photography. She was content to enjoy her favorite pastimes accompanied by her friends and cousins.

Cynthia's faith was important to her. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Riverside, CA for over 6 years. During that time, she was a volunteer and an usher and helped wherever she could.

Cynthia enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for her to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. Favorite vacations included vacations with family to Houston, TX, Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico, Bonner Springs, KS and San Francisco.

Cynthia was a lover of animals and cherished her pets. One of her favorites was Clifford, a Poodle. They were best friends for 5 years. Her family was rounded out by her goldfish.

Cynthia passed away on September 6, 2009 at Riverside Community Hospital in Riverside, CA. She is survived by her mother, Ana Maria; father, Horacio; brothers, Horacio Jr. and Jimmy; sisters, Michelle and Alicia and her nieces, Celeste and Isabelle. Services were held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Riverside, CA. Cynthia was laid to rest in Olivewood Memorial Park in Riverside, CA.

Simply stated, Cynthia was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Cynthia leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life she touched will always remember Cynthia Irene Barrios.
