He stood 5'8" had a dark complexion, hazel eyes, dark hair, and was occupied as a farmer before the war. After the war Bridges became a member of the James Emmett G.A.R. Post in Wabash, Indiana.

He had been Ill for four months of Addison disease of the liver, and has literally died by inches. Mr. Bridges was about sixty years old. He was a contractor and builder who did work all over northern Indiana, He leaves a widow and four children.
