Eugene H. (Gene) Reed, was the son of Edward Charles and Eliza Caroline Daily Reed, was born December 15, 1907 at Cabool, Missouri. He entered into eternal rest September 7, 1996, at the age of eighty-eight years.

He received his education at the Pine Flat School and on March 18, 1933 was married at Ava, Missouri to Edna Altermatt.

Mr. Reed was a retired farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Reed, Mountain View, Missouri; two sons, Paul Reed and wife, Alma, Ward, Arkansas and Tommy Reed and wife, Norma, Mountain View, Missouri; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; three sisters, Velma McMurtrey, Springfield, Missouri, Mava Brown, Little Rock, Arkansas and Merle Burge, Kansas City, Missouri; and a large number of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Reed is preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Opal Hoots, two brothers, Lee Reed and Owen Reed and two infant brothers.

He was of the Baptist faith.
