Brenham, Tex., Aug. 25. -- Monday, Edward, the 16-year-old boy of A. H. Phears, about six miles southwest of Brenham mounted his horse and started to visit a neighbor. The horse became scared and made a sudden jump, when the horn of the saddle struck the boy in the abdomen, injuring him internally. At first nothing was thought of it, considering it a simple strain. But he did not get over the pain, and it became so severe that Dr. S. Bowers was called in. It was then discovered that there had been an internal rupture, from the effects of which he died this morning. Dallas Morning News. August 27, 1892. Boy Fatally Injured.
