|Birth: ||unknown, England|
|Death: ||Apr., 1888|
Aged 74 years, so born about 1814.
It is unknown at this time if this lady is my relation. An old letter from an undertaker indicates some related Shortons are buried with my Storkey family over at Leverington Cemetery in Philadelphia, but we also have a likely-related Weir at this cemetery, St. David's, too. It seemed beyond coincidence a Shorton is here as well. For now it's a mystery to be investigated.
She appears like this on the census:
Name Olivia Shortin
Residence Philadelphia, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Birth date 1815
Birth place Delaware, United States
Relationship to head-of-household Wife
Spouse name Bengaman Shortin
Spouse birth place England
Father birth place Delaware, United States
Mother birth place Delaware, United States
Race or color (expanded) White
Marital status Married
Age 65 years
Occupation At Home
NARA film number T9-1180
Page letter A
Entry number 5248
Film number 1255180
which contradicts the death info stating she was born in England... but if she's from Delaware, she's that much more intriguing, as some of the family is from there, too.
