Mrs. Buchanan died on Tuesday, Oct. 15th. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur H. Buchanan, Sr.; her parents, Harrison Don & Minnie (Watson) Frizzell; her children, Marion Lee Buchanan, Loretta Joan Buchanan, & Charles Ray Buchanan. She is survived by two sons, David Lewis Buchanan of Texas & Arthur H. Buchanan, Jr. of Sylva, NC; ten grandchildren: Nona Witt of Tulsa, OK; Julie Etherton of Texas; Donna Tarish of GA; Joe Buchanan of Texas, Dawn May of TX; Walter Buchanan of WA; James Ray Buchanan of Asheville, NC; Arthur H. Buchanan III of Sylva, NC; Barbara B. Ashe of Sylva, & Christa Gumach of Germany, and twenty great-grandchildren. Interment followed funeral services that were conducted on Sunday, October 20, 2002, at the Little Savannah Baptist Church; Rev. Roy Burnett officiating. The Moody Funeral Home of Sylva, NC, assisted the family with the arrangements.
