Duran "Dukie" Adkins, 57, of Treadway, Tenn., formerly of Shelbiana, died Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at his home.
He was born in Pike County, March 23, 1953, the son of the late Danny and Ethel Cleo Adkins.
He was a mechanic and of the Baptist Faith.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Justice Thacker; three sons, Freddie Adkins, of Delbarton, W.Va., Duran Adkins II, of Robinson Creek and Terry Adkins, of the home; three brothers, Danny Adkins, of Dry Fork, Shelbiana, Gary Dean Adkins and James Borlin Adkins, both of Greasy Creek, Shelbiana; one sister, Elizabeth Kaye Ray, of Greasy Creek, Shelbiana; and two grandchildren, Danny Ray Adkins and Justin Adkins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, July 4, in the Roberts Funeral Home Chapel with Walter Rose, Phillip Hines, John B. Hamilton and others officiating. Burial will follow in the Annie E. Young Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Roberts Funeral Home, Robinson Creek.
