Bill was born Aug. 8, 1921, to William and Marie (Roder) Scheidler and raised on the family farm in the town of Arthur along with his nine siblings. He attended Matott School. After his release he worked as a cheesemaker at Kaedings in Drywood, Huhns in Cadott and Hamms outside of Cadott. After retiring he enjoyed "organizing" the picking at Pfaff's Berry Farm.

Bill was a member of American Legion and VFW in Cadott, serving as post commander for a number of years. He also was a member of the Indianhead Chapter of Ex-POWs, Big Drywood Lutheran Church, Rainbow Riders (snowmobile club) and the Cadott Fire Department. He enjoyed picking berries, drinking beer at local pubs, woodworking, gardening, hunting, snowmobiling, fishing and visiting with family and friends. He especially looked forward to his weekly visits from Alex and Laken.

Bill is survived by his wife, Janice; son, Warren Schiedler; daughters, Carol (Lewis) Jahr, and Kim (Andrew) LaCasse; a sister, Ruth (Howard) Van Den Heuvel; grandchildren, Sara Schiedler, Patrick Jahr, Michael (Kris) Jahr, Melissa (Allen) Crisp, Melinda (Paul) Davis, Kayla and Kai LaCasse, Christopher and Michelle Berge; great-grandchildren, Kile, Ashley, Lexi, Autumn, Alex, Aeryn and baby Nova; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice; parents, William Sr. and Marie; son-in-law, Lewis Jahr; son, Craig Smith; brothers, Anthony, Samuel, Robert, Harold, Vernon and Gerald; and sisters, Marie and Martha.
