PFC Thomas Redding Cape

Death: Jun. 15, 1944, France

Born in Starr, South Carolina, the son of James T. and Lula M. Cape. He was affiliated with Shiloh Baptist Church and attended Williford Grammar School and Anderson Junior High School. His vocation was that of a farmer. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in June 1942, serving with the Medical Corp while stationed at Camp Barkeley and Camp J.T. Robinson. He was killed in action at Cherburg Peninsula on June 15, 1944. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Silver Star after his death.
