Arlene M. Eber-Stump
Arlene M. Eber-Stump, 63, of York, died at 6:08 p.m. Monday at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Richard E. Eber and of the late Walter M. Stump Jr.
The service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Wm. J. Workinger Funeral Home Inc., 849 E. Market St., York. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Viewing will be 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Eber-Stump was born in York. She was the daughter of the late Paul J. and Laura R. (Stein) Smith.
She was employed as an auditor with the York County Controller's Office, retiring after 20 years of service. She attended Covenant Moravian Church and was a member of the Owls Auxiliary and the American Association of Retired Persons.
Mrs. Eber-Stump is survived by a son, Richard E. Eber Jr. of Baltimore; a daughter, Sandra L. Bullock of York; two step-sons, William Stump of York, and Joseph Stump of Harrisburg; five step-daughters, Susan Stump, Mary Russo, Nancy Strategos, Beth Holt, all of York, and Linda Clay of Cleveland, Ohio; four grandchildren; a great-grandson; seven step-grandchildren; three brothers, Donald Smith of York, Leroy Smith of Wellsville, and Kenneth Smith of Mount Wolf; and two sisters, Jacqueline Anthony and Helen Fry, both of York.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Dean R. Jurgen, pastor of Covenant Moravian Church.
