Feb 8, 1990 - Humboldt Independent - Funeral services for Hazel Westfall, 100, Humboldt, will be held at 10:30 a.m. today (Thursday) at the United Methodist Church in Humboldt, with burial in Union Cemetery.
She died Tuesday, Feb. 6, at her home in Humboldt. The Mason - Lindhart Funeral Home of Humboldt is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include three daughters, Siblyl Wadsley of Cherokee, Maxine Hartley of Fairmont, MN, and Jeanne Travis of Maquoketa; two sons, Keith of Marshalltown and Sidney of Humboldt; 20 grandchildren; 43 great grandchildren; and 12 great great grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Musa Knieriem of California.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh, in 1984, one sister and two brothers.
Hazel Locke, daughter of Byron and Clara Locke, was born June 25, 1889, at Rutland, where she was reared and educated. She later taught at North and South Maple Grove Schools and in 1911 was married to Hugh Westfall. They farmed for several years in the Rutland area, moving to Humboldt in 1921. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and UMW and was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge.
