EULESS -- Frank G. Furrie, 77, a retired Air Force colonel, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 28, 1997, in Fort Worth.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Burial: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
Col. Frank G. Furrie was born Feb. 11, 1919, in Brenizer, Pa. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1940 and served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam as a command pilot in heavy bombers. He became an aviation cadet, receiving his pilot wings Dec. 13, 1942. He was a graduate of the Command and Staff College and the Air War College.
Col. Furrie retired in 1969 with 30 years' service. He joined Bell Helicopter Textron with commercial marketing between the United States and Canada for 15 years.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Dr. James Furrie, and a sister, Ann Goldberg.
Survivors: His wife of 54 years, Mary Elizabeth; sons, Francis G. Furrie Jr. of Saginaw and Michael J. Furrie and daughter-in-law, Sissy, of Haltom City; granddaughter, Charee Null and her husband, Joseph, of Haltom City; two great-granddaughters, Megan and Tatum Null of Haltom City; sister, Genevieve Furrie of Coraopolis, Pa.; brother, Henry J. Furrie and sister-in-law, Jean, of Monroeville, Pa.; sister, Winnie Burdette and brother-in-law, Jack, of McMurray, Pa.; sister-in-law, Mildred Furrie of Springfield, Ill.; and seven nieces and nephews.
