Daughter of Israel K. Tefft and Frances Prescott Amos of Boston, MA. Her father was a member of Tefft, Weller and Co. of New York, the first wholesale dry goods company to be established in America. Per sister's obituary (Ellen Tefft Patterson).
Philadelphia, Dec. 28-Mrs. May Tefft Davis, wife of W. W. Davis of St. Louis, died suddenly today at Germantown. Mrs. Davis was very well known here, where she had frequently visited her sister, Mrs. E. G. Patterson of East Main street.

The funeral of the late Mrs. William W. Davis of St. Louis was held in Meadville on Saturday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Davis' sister, Mrs. J. C. Cotton, and the remains were laid to rest in Greendale Cemetery. Rev. George S. Richards conducted the Episcopal burial service and familiar hymns were sung. Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Patterson, the latter a sister of the deceased, of this city, were in attendance at the funeral.
