Not much is known about Georgia Carson Lott's childhood. She had a twin brother that died at birth. Georgia grew up around the town of St. Joseph, Missouri and the surrounding countryside. Her parents were older when she was born and when Georgia was about 10 years old, 1894, her mother Susan Elizabeth Saunders Carson died at age 50 years of unknown causes. Family tradition is that Georgia's first cousin, Elizabeth "Betty" Langford Cowan finished raising her and sister Lalla. At this time their father, Johnston D. Carson, was about 71 years old and unable to raise them by himself. Both Georgia and Lalla are living with him in St. Joseph in 1900.
It is unknown how Georgia met her husband John Lott Jr. John Lott did a lot of traveling in the west, so maybe he just "stumbled" upon her.
