Mrs. Dennis Brislin, one of the most widely known and most highly esteemed residents of East End, died last night at the family home, 132 Kidder Street, after an extended illness. Mrs. Brislin had been suffering from gastritis for several months past and three days ago her condition became very critical. Mrs. Brislinwas the mother of Thomas J. Brislin, of Scranton, sporting editor of the Scranton Tribune-Republican. Besides her son, Thomas, she is survived by the follwing other children: Mrs. Patrick McGroarty, of Quincy, Mass., Mrs. Con Boyle, of South Waverly, PA., Mrs. Thomas Cummings, of Scranton, PA., Dennis A. of Scranton, PA., and Genevieve and Joseph F. at home.
Mrs. Brislin was born in Ireland. When she was 16 years of age she came to this country, settling at Hazleton, and later at Lattimer. She moved from Lattimer to Plymouth and resided there with her family until 1894 when they came to this city to live. Mr. Brislin died twenty two years ago in Plmouth.
She was a member of Holy Savior Church, East End, and was also affiliated with the Altar and Rosary Society, Ladies Catholic Benevolent Union and Ladies Uxiliary A.O.H.
The arrangements for the funeral have not been completed and the announcement will be made later.
Hannah (Conyngham) Brislin was the daughter of John & Nora (McGinly) Conyngham. She was born in 1856 in Ireland. She married Dennis Brislin bef. 1874.
